On May 30, THO Executive Director Yenal Kucuker and Coordinator Caysie Myers met with representatives from the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Japanese government to discuss the state of the Turkish economy, U.S.-Turkey relations, and trilateral U.S.-Turkey-Japan trade and investment.
During the meeting, Kucuker and Myers met with Takashi Soda (Special Advisor to the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry), Satoshi Hashimoto (Director of Economic Affairs at JETRO Istanbul), and Ryohei Tamura (Executive Director of JETRO Dubai).
JETRO is a government-related organization that helps foster mutual trade and investment between Japan and other countries across the globe. It provides services to companies seeking to expand their business with and to the Japanese market. JETRO’s work centers on attracting foreign direct investment while “helping small to medium size Japanese firms maximize their global export potential.” JETRO has numerous offices worldwide, including six in the U.S. and one in Turkey.
