Dr. Elizabeth Ferris is a research professor at Georgetown University’s Institute for the Study of International Migration and completed a 9 year tenure as a senior fellow at the Brookings Institute.

Dr. Elizabeth Ferris is a research professor at Georgetown University’s Institute for the Study of International Migration and completed a 9 year tenure as a senior fellow at the Brookings Institute. She is still a non-resident senior fellow in foreign policy at the Brookings Institute, but prior to her joining of the Brookings Institute in 2006, she spent 20 years working with international humanitarian response councils. 

Her education background spans several U.S and Mexican universities, where she served as  a Fulbright professor at the Universidad Autónoma de México in Mexico City. In recent years, she served as a senior advisor to the U.N General Assembly’s Summit for Refugees and Migrants in New York.
