THO Executive Vice President Ali Cinar attends the Syrian Refugees Roundtable Discussion and Citizenship Briefing hosted at the White House.
THO EVP Ali Cinar met with senior administration officials and a small group of Ethnic Community Leaders at the White House to discuss the Syrian Refugee Crisis. For nearly two hours, Senior Advisors Amy Pope Deputy Homeland Security Advisor, Felicia Escobar-Special Assistant to the President for Immigration Policy, John Bisognano-Associate Director of Public Engagement, Jeffrey Prescott-Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Iran, Iraq and the Gulf States National Security Council listened to the concerns and policy recommendations of community leaders on Syrian Refugee Crisis.
The White House Officials shared the President's approach to welcoming refugees while ensuring the safety and security of the American people. In addition, Administration officials provided an overview of refugee admissions, resettlement, and integration, as well as overseas humanitarian efforts. They also highlighted efforts to welcome immigrants and refugees to America through the White House Task Force on New Americans. Earlier this week, the Task Force released its One-Year Progress report that highlighted key 2015 initiatives including the Building Welcoming Communities Campaign and the "Stand Stronger" Citizenship Awareness Campaign.
After the meeting, THO Executive Vice President Ali Cinar stated that "The briefings were so productive and we shared our feedback and recommendations to the White House Officials."
THO Executive Vice President Ali Cinar has also attended the Holiday Policy Meeting early in the morning. Valerie Jarrett, Senior Advisor to the President, Amanga Aguirre Associate Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, Bess Evans, Senior Policy Advisor on the Domestic Policy Council, Ginette Magana, Associate Director of Public Engagement, Kyle Lierman, Senior Policy Advisor on the Domestic Policy Council and Ashley Keenan Associate Director of the White House Fellow Program shared the 2015 work report and the President’s major policy initiatives in the coming year.
