Exclusive Insight with Priyali Sur, 2017 Millennium Fellow at the Atlantic Council

Priyali Sur is a global development professional, and an award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker who focuses on women and social justice issues. She is currently based in Washington, D.C., and works as a Social Development Consultant at the World Bank, where she has led several multimedia development communications projects. She is also a 2017 Millennium Fellow at the Atlantic Council

Ms. Sur is also the head of the Azadi project that provides digitally employable skills to refugee girls and women. She has reported extensively on the refugee crisis from Eastern Europe and Greece, and her latest film sahbak captures the complexities of love and friendships between Israelis and Palestinians in the midst of enduring regional conflict.

Ms. Sur is from New Delhi, India, where she was a journalist with CNN IBN (India) for almost a decade. As a reporter, she won numerous national journalism awards, including for best investigative report and best television documentary. She is a graduate of St. Xavier’s College in Kolkata and received her Master’s in International Public Policy at SAIS, Johns Hopkins University. In 2014, she was a Fulbright Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow at the Merrill College of Journalism, University of Maryland.
